Joe is a proud southsider who attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His fiancé, Emily, is a nurse at Midwest City Hospital.
Joe is the former Press Secretary for two Republican Speakers of the House. He’s a Capitol veteran who’ll fight for our conservative values. He knows what to do, and he’ll be effective on day one.

Joe comes from a working class family. He paid his way thru college working by fixing motorcycles and driving a box truck for a warehouse. No one will work harder for us than Joe.
More about Joe
Joe grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Baltimore, and is the first generation in his family to go to college. His father, a Vietnam veteran, and his mother, a secretary and daughter of a police officer, raised Joe with the values of family, faith and hard work. Instilled with the belief that you get what you put in, he began working as a dishwasher at 15, and after graduating college, he embarked on a career that allowed him to travel the country as a TV reporter and media professional before making Oklahoma his home.
After covering state government, crime and local issues for Oklahoma City’s Fox 25 News, Joe served as the communications director for two Oklahoma Speakers of the House. Over the years, Joe helped push legislation that focused on creating new and rigorous Oklahoma education standards, minimizing government waste and brining jobs to Oklahoma.
Griffin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Filmmaking from the University of Maryland – Baltimore County and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Communications from Towson University. He is currently working on a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Griffin and his family attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, and he is an active adult leader for Boy Scout Troop 179.
